JUNIOR TECHNICAL DESIGNER (GARMENT)

Position Summary: A Vendor Technical Designer is responsible for ensuring that garments produced by the sample room/factory meet the precise fit standards of the brand. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will identify and correct fit issues based on a strong understanding of garment construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.

• Independently evaluate complex garment samples on mannequins, meticulously checking against given specifications and brand aesthetic guidelines.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of patterns and provide detailed, actionable correction comments to pattern makers.
• Perform advanced root cause analysis and actively solve all issues related to garment construction, fit, and workmanship on the factory floor.
• Manage and confirm measurement charts, including complex extended size conversions, by accurately adding/deleting Points of Measurement (POM) in the PLM system.
• Serve as a technical authority, giving precise guidance to factories, merchandisers, and sample rooms regarding fit intent, block utilization, and construction standards.
• Lead effective communication with the sales team, factory management, and Brand representatives to proactively mitigate risks on complex styling details, fabrics, treatments, or finishes.
• Provide strategic suggestions and value-engineering options to the Brand, aiming to increase ease and efficiency for bulk manufacturing without compromising design intent.
• Actively track and manage departmental workflows in partnership with the sales team, ensuring strict adherence to seasonal deadlines and clear communication of fit approval statuses.
• Mentor, guide, and monitor the daily tasks of Associate Technical Designers.
• Spearhead the onboarding and training of new employees, covering construction standards, measuring methods, aesthetics, fit and balance requirements, and pattern review protocols.
• Represent the company at brand-hosted summits and training sessions, summarizing key takeaways and conducting internal roll-out training for relevant cross-functional teams.

• 4-6 years of hands-on experience in garment manufacturing or garment fitting on mannequins.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or a closely related field.
• Advanced understanding of garment construction, block utilization, and pattern making.
• Excellent English proficiency for communicating technical details with international teams.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and PLM software.
• Exceptional time management, planning, and organizational skills.
• Experience in CAD programs (STY CAD/OPTITEX) is a strong plus.
